Training and consultancy for packing house and cold storage operators - Palestinian Territories (2023-2025)

Bureau Leeters and the Omnivent Storage Academy, in cooperation with local experts, provide practical training and coaching sessions for owners and operators of packing houses and cold storages in the Palestinian Territories. These services, financially supported by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency RVO, allow cooperatives, wholesale markets and businesses to improve their management and technical capacities in order to run their facilities in a more economical way and to strengthen their position in the fruits and vegetables value chain.

Spread over the Palestinian West Bank and Gaza, cooperatives, private companies and wholesale markets operate packing houses and cold storages for handling of perishable fruits and vegetables. Many of these facilities were co-funded by donor organisations, including the Netherlands government. Cold storages are indispensable for successful marketing of the perishable goods. However, in many cases the management of the cold storages is weak, lack of adequate knowledge and skills being the main cause.
